Overview
- Histoplast is a non-polymer paraffin for use in infiltration and embedding
- Histoplast PE can be used in both infiltration and embedding procedures
- Histoplast IM utilizes DMSO for fast tissue penetration, excellent for dense and fibrous specimens, making ideal for tissues such as whole kidney
- Histoplast LP has a lower melting point to help reduce the chance of distortion of small, heat-sensitive and friable tissues
- Paraffin Type 1 contains no polymer and offers rapid infiltration
- Paraffin Type 3 is a low polymer paraffin designed for infiltration and embedding
- Paraffin Type 6 is a specially formulated paraffin without polymer designed to use in infiltration and embedding
- Paraffin Type 9 has a high polymer content designed for sectioning extremely thin sections
- Paraffin Type H has a high polymer content for harder samples and minimal compression
- Paraffin Type L has a low polymer content for enhanced infiltration
- Precision Cut is good for both infiltration and embedding
- Formulation VA5 provides a hard white wax of amorphous plastic structure
